A Day Late!

Hello all!

This week has been super weird, I have been exhausted constantly and working up a storm so I could just not find the motivation to post yesterday about last week’s weigh in!

In last weeks post, I talked about how I had gained weight and was dealing with that- well in last week’s weigh in I felt better, but still have a ways to go.  Here are my last week stats:

Weight: 125.0

Skeletal Muscle Mass: 54.9 (lost muscle weight here so not great)

Body Fat Mass: 25.4 (this also went up, not great)

This was a another week of eye opening on this plan. I had just not been sticking to my macros as well as I should have been, and because of the holiday weekend my choices were not the best. Instead of beating myself up though I just adhered with more vigor! It helped that I had killer workouts last week that really got me feeling the burn!

My favorite workout last week was this one:

300 m rowing

12 kettlebell swings

30 jumping jacks

12 each arm kettlebell bent over rows

30 jumping jacks

12 dumbell squat with over head press

30 jumping jacks

12 push-ups


I also really pushed myself on my 2 35 minute strength workouts! I felt great knowing that I was able to push more weight than usual!

Time to Change

So as I’ve said ive been crazy lately- crazy busy, crazy emotional, and crazy eating! Pretty much since I’ve moved to Nashville I have been pretty lax about how I eat- lots of restaurants that are sushi or Mexican- happy hours, more chips and queso than I’ve eaten in years, grilled items, ice cream, beer and other things that for a very long time I never allowed into my body. This was a good and bad thing- on the bright side I relaxed a lot about food! I didn’t stress after queso mainly because I was intent on enjoying the taste and the people I was with! It also meant I felt more sluggish and less in control of what I was eating. Once I started my new job full time breakfasts and lunches became super healthy and I am able to fit in workouts during nap time and take walks with the kids- but my dinners were still all over the place!
Luckily I had the foresight while I was in London to sign up for the Fitmixer bootcamp! Anyone who has read Alyssa’s blog has heard of this, and I was intrigued about what this would do to the new not so great habits I had picked up!
Well let me tell you…. One week in and I am already feeling better! For one the last two weeks have been better with the knowledge that I was starting bootcamp on Monday- and I lost 3 pounds in that time! That is the most weight I’ve lost in awhile! Knowing and planning out my 6 meals a day, having set workouts and actually documenting my meals on My Fitness planner has been awesome so far and I feel better than I have in months!
I am excited for the next 7 weeks to see what I can do, especially as I will start training soon for Disney Princess Half!!! I’m waiting for the weather to cool off just a bit before I do!
So that’s my spiel for today…. I am finally taking charge and making a change in my eating habits and body in a way I haven’t done in a while! The last year and a half I have been so focused on training for races that I haven’t done anything like this in awhile! So here’s to change and loving my body!

To get you ready for TONIGHT

GOOOD Morning and Happy Opening Ceremonies Day!!!! (yes that is a REAL thing!!)

I am up and at em early this morning to do  my own Olympic workout- biking, elliptical, weights, and possibly getting in ma pool! I am fueling with oatmeal and an Iced Coffee!!!

To keep this post short and sweet because I will be posting later about how I am bringing London to Nashville today!

So to pump you up I will leave you this video put together by the USA Swim Team- these swimmers/athletes are awesome! And as a sports psych consultant this exactly the kind of thing elite athletes should be doing- having fun before the big event!

Mini Triathalon Morning


So I had a post all ready to go last night but then passed out before I could post it… the beach makes me a sleepy sleepy lady!

Before we recap last night, I wanna tell you about my workout this morning! I was feeling ultra ambitious and decided to partake in my own triathalon!

First I ran three miles in 24 minutes.. which is insane and the fastest I have ever run three miles

then I took a great spin class with my momma, followed by 30 minutes in the pool where I did just under a mile because I was about to die of exhaustion/muscle fatigue/not enough food in ma belly

needless to say right now I am curled up in my bed… it is highly attractive I assure you!

Ok soo last night we went to the cutest little restaurant called Patsys! We usually don’t go to the real restaurants when we are in Bethany, we cook in or go to places like Five Guys or the Baja Beach or Surfs Up subs and pizza, quick easy and every can go where they want to go and we meet up on the boardwalk! But my parents and I decided to treat ourselves, and let me tell you none of us were disappointed!

It was one of those nights where you look at the menu and you want five things, only you can only have one… and it is a sad moment.. however I was definitely glad I ordered their award winning crab cakes because OMG… BEST.CRAB.CAKES. EVER. and I have tried many different crab cakes but man I could have eaten several more!

with the crab cakes came a salad of apple and celery root with mixed greens and steamed asparagus!!

My mom got seared scallops in a spicy but light curry sauce with mango salsa over jasmine rice

And last but not least my dad got grilled Bluefish with a red quinoa and couscous salad with steamed spinach… this side really impressed me because of the use of quinoa and couscous!

If you are ever on the Delaware Shore come to Patsys! It is definitely worth it and teh patio where we sat was so cute!!! Afterwards we walked over to the boardwalk for froyo/frozen custard!

So as I mentioned yesterday, I recently got a new camera! I current;y have several broken point and shoots at home and my moms Olympus DSLR that she lent me but she wants it back so I purchased a new camera before jetting off on vacay!

It is a Sony Cyber Shot and it is awesome! It has a setting for natural shots of food and I can already see the difference between that camera and my IPhone camera that I usually use! Eventually I would love my own DSLR however for now this is perfect for my needs and fit nicely into my budget at $130 (on sale)!

What kind of camera do you use?
